Since our main diving happens in the colder water climes of the Pacific Northwest, we’re always on the hunt for base layer items that give us the edge over the cold…especially when water temps drop into the 40s. Hearing good initial reviews on the Fourth Element Xerotherm wrist warmer and the G1 Glove Liners – bamboo-derived hydrofoam glove liners – we purchased some sets for review.

ScubaGadget testers raved about the White’s Fusion drysuits back in 2009 (see our review article) and became eager early adopters. We marveled at the attention we got with from divers who had never seen a drysuit like the Fusion. We did raise some eyebrows when we took our drysuits (see the companion sidebar article “Fusion is truly a Polar to Tropics drysuit”) to dive the in the “warm” waters around Grand Cayman. But we were in absolute comfort the whole trip and quickly found a lot of good reasons for diving dry in the tropics.
One obvious sign that we made a wise choice was evident in the form of a lot of cold divers...
