Bigger Better and Uncut – 2009 Northwest Dive and Travel Expo – April 24-26, 2009
Last year this show was grand,
fun and informative. This year it should be twice as good because it is almost double in size. The NWDE is not unlike the DEMA Show (Dive Equipment and Manufacturers annual convention) with its many exhibitors, demonstrations, classes and special. But like a secret society the DEMA show limits attendance to dive-industry professionals. The NWDE is chance for regular divers and potential divers to reap the same benefits. All can have fun exploring and learning about current and coming dive equipment and the latest practices.
Also this year Scuba Gadget, will be there reporting directly from the show floor with mini posts and maybe Twitter tweets.
In additions to the exhibits the show offers seminars, many drawings, a treasure hunt, a demo pool and chance to meet dive celebrities. We predict that, if this show continues on the current path, it will soon be number the one must-see dive public event in the country. One of our favorite exhibits, the Cousteau history exhibit will be back again this year, along with some great underwater artists.
