No more cold feet with Whites MK3 socks (REVIEW)
While testing the Whites Fusion drysuit for an upcoming article, almost as an afterthought, I asked to try a pair of their MK3 Socks. Not only have I had cold feet often during winter dives in the Puget Sound, but I remember hearing many of my fellow divers complain about this. The MK3 socks are sold separately (MSRP $49) or as part of Whites MK3 undergarment. The socks are a sandwich of a Primaloft® layer between an outer nylon and a fleece liner. It was inspired by the needs of the Canadian Military who regularly dive in Arctic waters. The sock is breathable and comfortable, but most of all it is WARM. I used in on six dives (3 each day) at around the 42 degrees F (5.5 C). My feet were toasty throughout all dives, while other divers on the boat without the MK3 socks had cold toes. I only added a thin wicking base layer sock on some of the dives. The sock was fine in my regular rock boots which has some space in the toe. When considering this sock you should make sure it fits your current boot. We give these socks 5 out of 5 stars.
